A Complete step by step guide on reformatting and Windows XP installation (part 2)

Step 10: At the middle of the installation, the Regional and Language Options will appear. Just click next and fill up the name and the company text box. You can leave the company blank if you want. Click next again.

Step 11: At this point, you are required to enter the genuine product key of windows xp. Enter the 25- character key and then press next. Make sure that the product key is correct because the system will detect if it is genuine or not.

Step 12: Now, enter your preferred computer name and then type an administrator password. You can also leave the administrator password blank and then configure it later. Click next.

Step 13: Now, on the date and time settings, choose the timezone for your country. Click next.

Step 14: You are now on the networking settings for your computer. Just click the radio button for the typical settings and click next.

Step 15: In this page, you will be asked if your computer is a member of a domain or not. If you don’t have a domain server, select NO then click next.

Step 16: Windows is completing the installation. This will also take a while. Just wait until your computer restarts.

Step 17: “Press any key to boot from CD” will pop up again but don’t press any button. Just let it continue. It will automatically proceed with the installation.

Step 18: Display settings will pop up, click ok then if the monitor settings will appear, click ok again.

Step 19: Welcome to Microsoft Windows will now appear, click next.

Step 20: Help protect your PC will now appear, click the “Help protect my PC by turning on Automatic Updates now” and click next.

Step 21: Windows will now check your connectivity, just skip this first. LAN drivers are not yet installed.

Step 22: Ready to register with Microsoft? Window will appear, select “no, not at this time” because you don’t have an internet connection yet. Click next.

Step 23: In this page, enter your name and then add a 2nd to 5th user if you want. Click next.

Step 24: Now, you’re done! Just wait until the welcome screen shows.

At this point, you have successfully installed windows xp on your computer. Before anything else, make sure to install all needed drivers for your system. Refer to your motherboard user manual for your driver installation.
